I haven't driven one yet, so I couldn't conclusively say that I'd pimp one. I'll wait until the dealerships get more in and they're not so rare and I'll take a TD...

The Cobalt SS is a fun car to drive (I drove a few recently along with the Saturn Ion Redline, Pontiac GTO, Cadillac CTS-V, and C6 Corvette...at GM's Autoshow in Motion). Fun in the corners for a FWD vehicle, just needs better tires. If I was in the market for a new FWD car the Cobalt SS/Saturn Ion redline would definately be taken into consideration. Though for about the same price you can actually get really low mileage used 2004 GTO's... And I really like the GTO after having driven it more than the others (about a dozen times around the course)...very fun in the corners for such a big car, plus the clutch is much nicer than the Cobalt/Ion Redline (they grab too early, nearly slamming on if you are comming from driving a Camaro or Tacoma.), it can practically take off by itself from a stop...

Yeah I'd say GM has a problem if the GTO can depreciate around $10k with just a few thousand miles of driving...

Just about any car depreciates like that with few exceptions. Not just a GM problem.

I don't know, the GTO lost so much value just sitting around. New 2004 GTO's are selling at dealerships for $20,000. New. Less than 5k miles. That is sad. It was poorly designed. Hopefully they fix it in 2005 and upcoming years.

I saw it at the AutoShow. It is very nice. Very popular already for the highschool/college age kids.

I say wait awhile. There's going to be a 272 Cobalt SS coming out later this year. 272 is 272 horsepower!

a couple thousand miles make a car used. once it drives off the lot that first time it looses a a ton of value.

i like the Cobalt SS. It's a nice lookin' car if you see it up close. I don't like the wing but you could get a trunk lid off a Cobalt without it and put an aftermarket smaller one on. I sat in one at the auto show and was pretty impressed. Much nicer then the Cavaliers it replaces.

Advantage of Root Blower compare to other blowers is extremely low end power. Disadvantage, heat. Very difficult to control heat. Intercooler is a definate must.

At NOPI the tuners brought out a 500hp SC Cobalt SS. Absolutely no change to the internal engine.

well, the reason im lookin into the cobaltSS instead of a nice 04 GTO, is id rather have an 05 GTO, and im still only 17, so my insurance would be astronomical, i dont need a speed demon, i need a practical car right now. Also, its really cheap to mod and responds very well to mods (FI ) the ecotech has quite a bit of potential for what it is...
