Look on www.Autotrader.com You'll find just about anything you want on there. Personally, I wouldn't waste my time on a car with that kind of mileage. One of my students at school just bought one with like 118,000 miles and it was beat to hell. The oil was low and dirty and the other fluids were low also. It was in an accident and has a broken hinge on the door, so the paint inside the door is a mess. That's just some of it's problems, but that is a different car. I know for a FACT that you can get a better deal than that on a car with less mileage and wear.

Ok, first you need to evaluate the financial side of all of it. V8 = higher insurance, and will the guy hold the car for you until you find a seller for your car? also, taxes tags title and registration, inspection depending on where you live. It's happened to all of us.. we see something we want, and on a whim we buy it. think clearly on the financial side of it all.
with that said, 4500 is a reasonable private party asking price for the car, but the mileage is a little high for that amount. Not only does the engine have 140k but so does the rest of the car, meaning suspension, tranny mounts.. the little things that can add up.
to answer your questions, Jade green i'm assuming would be an uneducated fbody owners perception of "hunter green metallic" the dark forest green. Which was a very popular color for TA's in that year. GT, yes it is a GT because 1994 is the year that they introduced the raised spoiler, and factory interior options such as 10 speaker sound system, leather, ect.
in short, i believe that you would be able to find a better deal for the money if you dedicated yourself to looking for what you want. my best friend bought the exact same car with 75k miles for $6000 a year ago.
My advice, talk the guy down to 3800 (more reasonable for the mileage, ask also about number of owners) and you might have yourself a good deal. But remember, it's got 140,000 miles, that's 60,000 away from 200,000.
Hope this helps a little bit! If you have any questions email me.
thanks guys...i dont have 6k thats why this car was an option. i just found out i have to have my gas tank pulled and cleaned. whoever owned my car before me took sh!tty care of it. i also dont have to pay insurance, my mom does. ;)
i think i can sell this for 6 buy this one for like 3800 and use the difference to pay off the loan on my car(to my mom) i think i can tell if they took good care of it or not after having my car and noticing all the things wrong with it. i really want a v8. all my friends have v8s and im left behind(literally) my mom just gave me the adress and im going to go look at it(hopefully without getting seen cuz the ad doesnt come out for 2 days) ill keep you posted on how it looks. the motor doesnt have 140,000 becuase its rebuilt. i think putting in a new tranny mount would be worth it as i have a shop i can use.

Heh. If I bought a V8 at that age, mother would make me pay insurance real quick. And you can definitly get a better deal on an LT-1 w/ that many miles. That car would have to be super clean and driven by Jesus for me to buy it for 4500.

You're not getting my point.... LOL
The motor maybe rebuilt, but the car has A LOT of miles on it for a domestic vehicle!!!! This is the point where lots of little things start going bad, EGR's, O2's, MAP Sensors, Suspension, things like that.
If it's what you want and you don't want to look around that's up to you. I was just helping you like you asked. I mean I haven't had a 2nd gen, a 3rd gen, and three, yes THREE 4th gens at all, 2 of which being lt1. ;) I'm trying to tell you from experience that when buying a car with that many miles can be a problem.
well its official.put 4 sale signs on 'er.
im going to try all summer to sell for 6k. shouldnt take too long. already had a 3rd gen IROC pull up next to me and ask for a price;)
i also have a 66' chevy pickup i can sell for 1500. 7500 plus whatever i make this summer outta get me in a real pretty trans-am. thanks for talking me out of a rash decision. chaio
