  • The Vice Presidential Debate, which one hit it right with you?

There really is no such thing as a winner or loser in this. It really is up to the voters as to which candidates hit it right with them.

So who hit it right with you?
    10
    Vice Pres. Cheney
    80.00%
    8
    Senator Edwards
    20.00%
    2
    Still undecided

I think this poll is completely pointless b/c there is maybe 1 unbiased person on this board.

and it sure as heck isn't you.

It wasn't a debate, it was one personal attack after the other.

But I REALLY wish the moderator would show some of their given authority. When Edwards was asked a new question, he said "Let me first address the Vice Presiden't last response"... That's against the debate rules. Once a new question is asked, the old question is GONE....I can't stand it when they break the rules. Morever, the moderator could have said "No, Senator Edwards, the question at hand please"...

But I couldn't imagine THAT happening. At least not with Mr. Edwards

I'll be honest, up until last night I didn't know there even was a vice presidential debate.

No **** sherlock - Im not undecided.

As for Edwards breaking the rules - of course she is going to allow it... going back a question looks TERRIBLE and if he's going to take his free publicity chance to make himself look bad, no one is going to stop him. I cringed and yelled when he did that - its the kind of thing that ****ed Al Gore. However, they both broke their share of the stupid rules.

All in all - I think Cheney did a better job with technically presenting his case (however, many of his claims will be used against him b/c they were not true) but Edwards will be seen as the winner b/c of his presentation - and how that presentation was in such stark contrast to Cheney's brooding slouching grumbling unfriendly persona

Edwards reminds me of Clinton and I was a Clinton supporter.

I felt like cheney had better control in the beginning because Edwards was basically giving his stump speech, which disappointed me, but about halfway through i thought he started giving as good as he got. I figure it was probably a tie - cheney took more digs at edwards himself... but as far as doing what vps are supposed to do (support their candidate), i thought edwards did a better job - cheney never once mentioned bush by name. I felt like Cheney was debating to support himself, while edwards was debating to strengthen kerry. And cheney just came across as being nasty during his digs... as it turns out, the reason he never met edwards (regardless of the fact that he has) on his tuesday sessions is that he apparently only meets with the republican senators on his tuesday visits!

Let me break it down for you again...

A.) I dont think Ive ever pretended to be unbiased or undecided
B.) There are far more Republicans on this board than Democrats
C.) If youd been on this board as long as I have, you'd KNOW that b/c Ive heard over 3 years of discussion on most topics and party identification polls that have been posted numerous times.

I thought Cheney presented his positions and ideologies better, however I couldn't get past the fact that 95% of what he said were lies.

Umm, no. There's a difference between knowing something is a lie, and Republicans wanting something to be a lie.

if you say that enough times, it HAS to be true. right?
