You trade that in, chances are you will still be making payments. It would be a big rip off if you trade it in for an inferior used car.

If I were you. Just keep it, get a job (I'm a full-time college student working on my grad. with a full time job and full time family)and sort your financial situation.

There are loans too that you can borrow to help you. But really that's just me. Don't take my word for it. It really is up to you. It just sounds like you love your car. I love my cars and last year when I got laid off from one job to another, I resisted on giving up on them. My cars are just part of my family.

Good Luck with your decision.

How is it that steep? I pay $450 month with carpayment and insurance. 200 for the car and 250 for the insurance.

yea that payment is for both my car payment and insurance..the thing is my dad is helping out with the insurance a little bit. My car mayment is 248 and my insurance is well im not sure i pay 400 total a month. I have a job and i make 12$ an hour but with college and gas and all the other lifes expenditures its just getting to me.

Plus i own a motorcyle so i will have some speed still lol. This was my plan sell my bike and have plenty of money to keep paying on my camaro but i cant get anybody to buy the bike, winter time and nobody wants one right now....so im kinda stuck.

What you should do is keep the f-body and take it home. Cancel the insurance and registration so that you're not paying for it; just don't drive it (don't know if you can do this is you're making payments on it since they usually require you to have full coverage).

Maybe try looking into doing something like this before you decide to sell it.

I dont think your gonna find a car with better gas mileage than a v6 f-body, you got a economy car for christ sake. My gtp gets 4mpg less than my camaro. You can buy a hybrid i guess

Yea man, I pay $230 a month for insurance. It's almost paid off now but I pay $200 payments on mine. So I'm paying about the same for you, i'm the same age, pay to go to school too, all that great stuff. Man I had my car up for sale a few months ago, I was determined to get rid of it. It kinda showed me it's way of not letting me though, things started breaking on it. Then when I decided not to sell it, boom it's fine again. So I just decided i'd stick it out with it to the end. I had my car half of it's life anyway, and it's came such a long way. But think though man, if you get another car that isn't as great as your camaro it's going to kill you man. Your thinking economical in the winter time, but like you said when it's spring time your going to wish you had it. But if you do sell it man, good luck with whatever youre getting next.

Now that I think about it, I pay $360/Month for the car, and $255/Month on Insurance. The only help I am getting is being on my step-moms policy. (I'm still the Primary Driver, though)

I think I would like a Grand-Prix GT (Coupe/Black/Modded)
I doubt I can afford a GTP

Yeah man, if you are getting really bad mileage, I'd look into solving that problem.

I get 27-29MPG with a 50/50 mix of highway and city driving.

I mean, my beater gets like 22mpg!

You should be able to get pretty good mileage out of your car.

Sorry, I tend to think anything over $350 is too high. My car is almost paid off. I pay $250/mo for the car , and about $66/mo insurance... about $316. Gas and all that other junk not included... but I don't drive more than 33 miles a day, mostly highway.

Why cant you afford a gtp? I pay $199 a month for the payment on mine and $83 for insurance, I have 18 tickets on my record too. My insurance classifies Gtp/Gt/Se as the same car with the same policy so technically i drive a family sedan. The camaro insurance is $425 and its alot slower than they gtp. Damn sports cars.

Hey, I think you should check out some of the 4 banger Grand Ams... I think youd be pretty suprised how peppy them things are. Or even check out the GTs, but honestly I could hardly tell the diff from the GT 6, and the 2.3L DOHC 16 valve 4 cylinder. Youll get your better gas mileage, and plus, they are about 10 times more reliable than our junk. Well wait, I cant vouge for the newer ones.

Hey. Sorry for not responding in a while. Almost forgot about this thread!

Whe I say can't afford it, I mean insuance-wise. I'm only 19. A 19 year old with a 240-HP Car. I'll have to call my agent to see about it. You probably are right, and I'm not thinking of something, as usual!

I'm on the lookout for a late model 4D GTP. Local of course. If I throw all my money into paying my baby off, in 6 months, I won't owe anything If I Trade-in!

I, Derek, LOVE this Firebird.
Him, Derek's Checking Account, HATES this Firebird.
