I never been but I don't see the rifle range getting anymore boring then the dragstrip. I mean you drive down the same 1/4 mile of road over and over.

My range is 10 min from me. I go every chance I get. I'd be there right now if it weren't for the +6 in. of snow outside.

I spent all weekend at a huge gun show and didn't find a new toy :(

How are you enjoying your SKS so far? If you want a cheap source of Wolf 7.62 ammo check out WolfAmmoMan over at WarRifles.com. Last I checked it was a case for $69 + shipping.

If you wanted a good, reliable 12ga shotgun you should have looked at a Saiga. Built on an AK type receiver with semi-auto action, you can convert them back to a pistol grip configuration :D

yeah, i hate not finding somthing at a gun show. when you get there you're all excited, and if you leave empty handed you're all depressed.

I've only got the sks to a range once so far, and it was indoor so i couldnt use steel ammo  so i payed like $42 for 120rds :( but thanks for the heads up on the cheap ammo, the outdoor range opens again tomarrow actually.

The mossberg is actually very reliable for the price actually. many police departments use the persuader, that or a remington 870 express. both sub $300 shotguns.

but once i build up enough money, i'm gonna be looking at getting a handgun or two, then an ar15m4, then mabey another shotgun so i'll keep that saiga in mind ;)

Exactly, I was so depressed when I left empty handed. I wanted to buy a Cetme, but I didn't find one cheap enough.

Unfortunetly, range nazi's think because the rounds fail the magnet test cause of the bi-metal jacket that they're steel core, but they're lead core. The indoor range that I used to go to sold me the Wolf and didn't care if I used it there, though.

Check out http://www.gunsnet.net to hang out with other gun nuts. There doesn't seem to be many of us around here.
