  • Picking a new car

Well its finally come time to sell the firebird :( , and find a more economical, but still fun to drive car. Ive narrowed it down to 4 cars. They all appear to be great reliable cars, which is exactly what im looking for. Of course im going to miss the bird, but the leaking top and some expensive engine repairs have given me no choice. Plus I've noticed that the police in my town have taken a liking to my car and like to follow it everywhere I go. Ive done countless hours of research on all of them and I still can not make a decision as to the superior car. Which vehicle do you think would be the best choice?

    Mazda 3
    Mazda 6
    Scion Tc
    Corolla S

    none of them.

get a festiva or metro & save upto move out of that looser town. when at new place, keep driving beaters while secretly saving up for f-body ver 2.0

Mazda 6 for speed, although I hear the rattle as much as F-bodies and the long term quality is questionable.

Second choice of mine would be Scion for quality and it will be somewhat as peppy as your firebird. I say screw the Corolla S and Mazda 3.

I vote for the V8 F-body with a big decal on the back window that says "F**K the Police" (not bashing on cops)

I would say the Scion TC if you want something that is almost comprable with power. All of the others aren't that sporty, though i'm a fan of the mazda 6, for the money you could get a TC with a bunch of upgrades rather than a car with a "few" options.

the mazda 6 is a sporty car with a lot of luxury as the TC is a sporty car with luxury that costs a lot less.

Another thing is reliability...with a scion you have a toyota backed warranty, which is one of the most reliable automobiles in the industry. As far as mazda, they are pretty good, but i've seen them in the shop a LOT more often then toyotas.

                  just my opinion.

(for the record i worked for toyota and mazda for almost 2 years, so i have a lot of experience with the products)

Out of those 4 choices I'd go with the scion.

get another firebird. my 95 camaro was only 4 grand, ill bet you could get a 1999+ bird from a dealership for half the price of any of those cars. and when u get it from a dealership you can hold them reliable for if your car craps out again.
