i dont like or dislike music based on the artists, i like/dislike based on the music... and if you ask me, rap isnt music. I'm not a "hardcore rock guy" either btw, i'm a 60s-70s rock guy, zeplin, van halen, beatles, rolling stones, three dog night, simon and garfunkle, lynyrd skynyrd, monkees, paul revere and the raiders, and all those other oldies bands.

Calm down, I'm just poking fun. My point is that all types of music have some drama involved. Hell I'm sure Yanni and Yoko Ono have had their fair share, its just that rap is more prevailent because its very popular and a lot of people actually give a rats *** about rappers lives.

no, its cuz other than rappers, most artists "drama" doesnt involve shooting other artists... when yoko ono broke up the beatles no one was shot... when van halen broke up no one was shot. paul simon didnt shoot art garfunkle when they broke up, non of the eagles died when they went their seperate ways....

Rappers are all about image nowadays, it really doesn't seem that hard to string a bunch of "Unf unf yeah yeah yeah werd bling blings" together and call it a new hit rap song. Especially when other people make the beats for you.

At least with rock/metal bands someone is playing the music on a musical instrument. There is a certain amount of talent that goes into playing and writing coherent music that is far beyond the ability that most rappers possess. I'd love to see a rapper even make a lame 2-chord song that actually used a guitar.

I appreciate all forms of music, is rap less artistic as far a musicaly? I can see the argument behind that. But how many people can actually rap themselves. It does take a talent, could 50 cent sing on broadway, um I think not. Could a broadway musician cross over to rap, lol I think not.

My point is whether or not, you personally like a style of music, you can't say a certain genre of music sucks. Solely based on personal bias.

Plus the mainstream rap community there for awhile was getting a bit soft. It's just cycling back again. With the shooting, people dissing other people, and this new blood of rappers. I can see things escalating fast. Whether for real or for publicity.
