Crankshaft position relearn, help please, how to do it?
00\' firebird v6 5spd<br />201rwhp ---- 230 rwtq<br />\"Everyday I grow stronger...and further from you.\"<br />WARNING: Do not take any of my comments seriously unless they are technical in nature and then only at your own risk
I got a Chilton's sitting right in front of me, and it is telling me the same thing that Texas Speed is telling you. There is a program on that scan tool called the Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn procedure.
The whole relearn procedure goes like this...
1. Install the Tech 1 or equivalent scan tool.
2. Apply parking brake, blah blah...
3. Tranny in park or neutral, blah blah...
4. Idle engine till coolant temp is 150*.
5. Turn OFF all accessories.
6. Apply brakes throughout the whole procedure.
7. You then enable the program that is on the scan tool for the learn procedure I stated above.
8. Slowly raise the engine speed up to 4000 rpm.
9. When the engine speed decreases, IMMEDIATELY release the throttle.
10. After learn procedure is completed, turn the engine off for 15 seconds.
Hope this helps.
