  • the price of XM radio is going up, but no more comericals

they are no longer going to be playing comericals so they are rasing the price to 12.95 a month, the same as sirrus. the price will change april 2nd. if I am going to be paying the same for sirrus I am going to switch to sirrus. I personally think they have a better selection of music, and no one can beat the area 63 station ;) .

I wonder if I can pay in advance for a year before it goes up even though I'm already prepaid for six months.

I might switch too. I got an XM MyFi free with a six month committment from work, but I'd rather have something built into my car.

I wouldn't mind satellite radio but is it me or is every fecking thing in the world nowadays "a low monthly payment of"

What kind of costs is it to hook it up in a car, and have service for 6 months...

also with the MIFI or whatever how well does it work indoors. If it works indoors I'll be all over it but its satellite so has to be very much line of sight right?

Just pay the lifetime subscription and be done with it. 500 smackers = a little over 3 years at 12 bucks a month. I'm pretty sure once you have sat radio, your gonna have it longer than 3 years.

And to answer your question Shennanigans, It has an exterior antenna for home use. I dont know if the reception in weather compares to a traditional dish collector for tv use (I know my dish rocks. Cable is all hype about that interruption garbage).

I was more interested for work/home. My parents have a dish TV and I live in FL, I have know what it takes to get it to knock out in a rainstorm, not so much worried about that. But I want room to room capabilities as a walkman.

I got a thing in the mail today for this. If you buy the 5 yr plan, it's $500, comes out to be under $9.00 a month.

I'm still trying to decide if it's worth it or not. With all those channels there is only like 3 or 4 I listen too.

Lol, me and my bud outran the signal in his T/A one day. Launched hard, music was still goin, hit 2nd, still playing, chirped 3rd and the signal dropped. We were in a wide open space and there was no interferance. Had to turn the thing off and back on. Oh well, still no complaints about his system, but I thought it was already supposed to be commercial free?

Clearer than a studio produced cd, I doubt it. Clearer than a cd with a bunch of burned mp3's on it. Definitly.
