i really didnt enjoy it at all. it really wasnt all they cracked it up to be and it had subtitles. that made me mad. but if u like movies with mediocre action then OK acting, then go see it. :mad:

I loved it, just got home from seeing it. Mediocre action? $hit doesn't always have to blow up for it to be "hard core" action. The sword fighting was great. As for acting it's an action movie, not the english patient, it wasn't great but it certianly wasn't bad. Also there are many people who do not live in this country that can make cool movies. They can make it in whatever language they want. Omfg, i saw it today, awesome fricken movie, although its subbed. theres all of like no talking, just like tons and tons of fight scenes. :D it rox3d meh99 WS6

According to Jet Li's site, Hero was made in 2001 and debut in China, 2002. I knew he made this movie a long time ago and I always wonder when it would come out in America. He also have another movie he made awhile back called Danny the Dog, with Morgan Freeman. I hoping it gets release here soon.
It's based on a Chinese folklore. Somewhat True story though, but when told from generation to generation, things gets blown out of portion. Jet Li took the movie according to the folklore, legend whatever you want to call it.
I liked it, my wife was OK with it. I was hoping for an army against another army battle. But it didn't happen. The sword fight was impressive. The Chinese girls were cute.
I'm glad they did subtitles, makes it more authentic to the Chinese culture. If it was dub, that would have been corny. The movie reminds me so much of Crooching Tiger, Hidden Dragons.
