  • Flat tire woes...

OK So last night Im driving out from a resturant with 2 friends, I hook a left turn and when I get strait, my car is pullin bad to the right, im like **** theres a flat! I pulled into a parking lot, and changed it out, my tired had 2 screws in it! They were different too, hrmm. Anyways, I get the spare on, and guess what, its flat too, but has enough to get to a gas station. At the gas station Im putting air into and, air wont go in, its just shooting ou the sides where it should be going into. So discount tire here I come.

My mom wants me to just have them FIX my tire with the screws instead of getting a new one, but how safe is that?

Just have them patch it on the inside. If they do it right it should last the life of the tire.

thats the other problem, that WAS the life of the tire, these things wernt new when I got the car. I needed new tires but I was waiting until I had the money for all 4. This screws me lol.

Well.... you can patch/ plug them yourself.

But..... you now have TWO weak points in your tire.... even if you patch them.

                    Which can you do:
                    1) Buy new tire.... but then you should get a second for the opposite side...

                    2) Plug/ patch the tire... knowing in the back of your mind the tire is not 100% perfect.

                    I'd look into replacing tires.

When I was younger, and the realization of what MIGHT happen if a plug came out, I would say plug it and just cruise around. Since I'm older... and finally realize the consequences of my actions... I'd get 2 replacement tires.

If money is an issue just plug it until you can afford to get new ones. (Probably around $230 for 2 pretty good tires like BFG traction T/A's))

my tire recently went flat. it took a few hours to get the spare on but thats a long story, but to get to the point i had les schwab repair it. there isnt any danger at all, if anything they make the damaged part stronger than the rest of the tire.
