  • Ahhh. Its been a long weekend.

Not that I am mechanically retarded, but I had a hard time installing some speakers this weekend. It took my about
    20 hours.

My goal was to remove all the monsoon stuff, except the HU, and install some Infinity 6000cs Components, and a Alpine f240 amp.

First of all my car is a lot longer than I measured, it took me 3 trips to the store to get enough wire.

I finnaly found something more difficult than changing our spark plugs, pushing wire through the door jam gromet thing. My hands are so cut up, It looks like I got in a car fight, and lost.

What is with GM and uneven surfaces, It was impossible to find a 12x12 on the back wall of the trunk, witout some sort of curve or divet, or some crap. I did finnaly get my amp mounted on the rear wall.

Everything was a pain, and required modification. The speaker mounts baffle thing is too tall. So the woofer would stick out and touch the door skin. So I took out the dremel and cut it back.

The Tweeter hole is ovesized, and my new 1in tweeter would fall through. So I made a cool alluminum colar trim peice with the dremel.

Maybe Im just mechanically retarded all of a sudden, but these things never were timr consuming for me.
    Im just glad its over.

To top it off, after two days of working in the garage, I finish about 9.45 at night. So I turn it up to enjoy my work and set the gains.

A friggen neighbor starts yelling at me after 10 minutes of music, shes yelling that it is 10 o clock on a sunday. Im like right its ONLY 10 o clock on a suday. When is 10 late?

Reminds me of when i was gonna do the quick job of installing some angel eye fog lamps on my gtp, 3 days, 2 custom brackets, 1 custom fog switch, and a whole rewiring of the fog light system later i had them done. Whats bad is they sell this for the gtp but they sure as hell dont fit with the **** in the box

Damn that sucks, I hate when a stupid little thing becomes a big project... I think I spent a half hour to 45 minutes or so on a pinion shaft bolt when I did my LSD recently.
