  • Gun People, Step Inside...

Im intrested in a Mossberg Maverik 12-Ga. 28-In. Synthetic Shotgun

Heres a pic of what it looks like

The problem is i dont like the look of that gun at all. I wanted to know if it was possible to put a rear and front pistol grip on it so it will look like this...

i just dont like the look of the long peice at the end of the gun on the first pic, i think they look a lot better with the pistol grips, is this doable w/o major modification to the shotty? I know the guns in the 2 pictures arent the same ones but you get the idea...

are you a drug dealer or something?
    or do you hunt?

That would be awesome with both grips, remonds me of Duke Nukem.. I say go for it!

Is that legal for civilian use?

the answer is yes, i was also going to buy the mossberg maverck/ or the 500. i cant remember exactly which but one has pistol grips out for it and one does not. it does not require modification at all. just google it,

Here you go, the Mossberg 500 is the shotgun that you can convert, not sure of the maverick

i have the maverick, you can change the butt stock but not the front grip... mosberg 500 defender (same gun, $100 more) you can change both

I'll just say I hate the way ATI stocks look. Cheap plastic that just detracts from the look of the gun its on. It's just my opinion from seeing lots of guns up close with them.

grips make no matter on a shotgun...only thing that makes them illegal that i'm aware of is going below an 18.5" barrel..if your buying it for defense..which i'm assuming with wanting to add pistol grips..the mossberg is an excellent choice..mossbergs safety located at the end of the reciever is easy to work and find..especially in a high stress or dark scenario...easy for lefties to use as well...other shotguns use the crossbolt safety in front of the trigger which isn't easily accessible and could one to accidently fire a round in a high stress or dark scenario..

so it would be illegal to have a pistol grips on a rifle if the barrel is less than 18.5'' is that right?

No, it's illegal to possess a shotgun with a barrel length of less than 18.5".

:( i just researched it and it turns out the gun i had in mind ( budget) they dont make pistol grips for it.

any one know of any other 12 G shotty less than 150 thats compatible with both the rear and front pistol grips?

Ever shot a 12ga shotgun before? Any particular reason you want to ghetto-fy it?

                              ^ to look like Rambo.

go to a gun show. you'll be able to pick up something used in your price range.
