I bought the data cables that are supposed to let me transfer ringtones from my computer to my phone (i730) but it needs software
the only software I could find was to make my phone into a modem and connect to wireless internet
does anyone know how to make this work so that I can put ringtones on this thing?
thanks
it's not locked, dont know what the hell he is talking about. goto www.nextelforums.com and look for a program called webjal, or myjal, its about 10$ I think, it lets you transfer all the ringtones games and pics that you want. But do tell what program it is you found to turn your phone into a modem, Im interested in that for my laptop.
first, you'll need to unlock your phone. Then you need Motorola's Mobile PhoneTools software.
no you don't you just need the software. Theres a messageboard, i think it's www.nextelfourms.com you can find someone ont here that has the software. I used to have it, but got rid of nextel and deleted the software. Good luck!

I used to have the webjal software, got it to transfer ringtones onto my nextel. I don't have the phone anymore, but I'll see if I can find the software lying around here somewhere. It's a pretty small file, should take notime to transfer.

yeah when I found it (by accident) I thought it would be cool too, then I called nextel and it's like $55 a month for the high speed. If you want "wireless dialup" then it is still 10 a month and you get like a 7k or 9k connection.
But regardless, here is a link to the software and a pdf read me guide so you can check it out.
btw for what its worth, the program looks like it will work because it instantly recognized the phone as a modem and added a modem to my connections dialog.
EDIT:
When I clicked my own link it didn't work. You may ony be able to click it from the nextel website. search link
if you click the link for my search results, it is the very first result to download the software
if you can't get it, I can email you the zip (5mb)
