GM has a rule. No car can be faster than their flagship Corvette, stock vs stock.
Hence the reason why the GMC Syclone/Typhoon as well as the Grand National cease to exist. And I wouldn't exactly call it a "3800 Series 1" ... Just because it was a 3.8 doesnt mean its the same as the other 3.8s of its day in time - it was quite a bit different than the other 3.8 fuel injected setups.
