I have been hearing reports in the news that it should come down a little more by around mid october to november, as the damaged oil rigs in the gulf coast are brought back into service.

The price right now that we are all paying is just totally through the roof. And the oil companies like to play with us.... the price goes really high, we get used to the new "pricing", then in a couple days this "sky high" price goes down a few cents and we rush to the pumps like we think we are getting a deal. Still paying through the roof.

in philly it's still up around 3.15 but at the same time i know a few places that are at 2.98. i just pray that it keeps coming down.

we've dropped $.40 in 5 days. $3.29 last week, $2.89 today

yeah it's still outrageously high, but it seems like it's a frickin fire sale!

We've always had decent prices here on base, at least compared to what I've heard from everyone here. Though still quite high in my eyes, it's $2.59 a gallon for 87 on base. I wish I were an engineer- I'd design a solar car for me to drive

Its coming down here too - either 2.69 or 2.79 around here. If it gets to 2.25 I will be a happy camper.

Do you remember last year, same time, when we were all freaking out about gas hitting $2? why are we being happy and content with it being this expensive?

I wouldnt say happy and content...... I'd say Im gratefull that it is coming down. I'd be happy if it got back down to $1.60ish. That would seem like a reasonable rate of inflation. But on the other hand, what are we going to do about it? Riot in the streets? Start the Million Motorist March?
