  • anyone ride snowmobiles?

I rode snowmobiles while I was in wyoming over the christmas break, I was amazed at how fast they were. I rode a new Yamaha SXViper and a RX-1. They have crazy acceleration and i think the rx-1 has a top speed of like 110mph.

Yeah, people take them to the drag strip around here. It's crazy watching a snowmobile doing a wheelie down the track and running 8s.

I don't have my own yet, but I ride with my dad a lot. We're going on a trip up north next weekend. He'll be riding his friends and I'll be riding his built up sled. It's fast as hell. He's done some serious work on the motor of that thing. I don't know any numbers or times or anything on it, but I know I can take it up to 95mph easily ;) . You should see the holeshots I leave in fields with that thing.
I can't wait for next weekend. I'll post up some pics.

Yeah, my family has a few of them. The one I usually take out is a '96 Artic Cat EXT 580. Liquid cooled and studded. Its a pretty heavy sled, but it moves. I've had it up to around 100 on a lake up in the UP a few years ago. Last winter I ran in a radar run, and didn't even place in my class with like 86 mph runs.

I need to buy a new set of bibs if I'm going to ride at all this winter. I shreded them at the end of last winter, I rolled it over and the sled landed studs down on me :(

I have a 2003 Arctic Cat F7 with a D&D pipe, ODS clutch kit, 153 studs...let's just say it moves way to fast to be legal, lol. I love the thing. I took it up to the U.P. and had the thing doing 111 easily down the groom trail. I haven't managed to get to a frozen lake yet to test it out there, but I imagine I could probably get her to about 120, maybe a bit more. The thing is so fast.

we didnt have the best trails to ride on, it was about 15 ft. wide trail between trees, really washboardy. But we found a nice open area, I only got up to 75 though.

How do you like that F7? I haven't had the chance to drive one myself yet. I heard they handle like they are on rails. One of my buddies just bought an F6, I'll have to see if he will let me take it for a spin this winter.

i love my F7 it is the best sled I have ever owned or ridden. It does seem to be on rails, but it is great. The accelleration jerks your arms and you have to really hold on. My clutch kit and pipe also help with performance but even stock they are awesome
