  • Persevere, for you shall achieve your goals!

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1703095&page=1

Now this is not just a funny thread. It's an inspiration!

To sum it up for those not willing to read 12+ pages:

Guy has VW, to "clean out" his engine, he pours boiling where the oil is poured. Drains. Pours in JUST slick 50. Runs engine for two minutes revved at 5k RPM. Blows motor.

Orders rebuilt engine and takes out blown engine.

    Buys turbo kit.

Installs new engine and turbo kit. In the process, he cuts holes in the oil pan but fails to drop the pan to clean out the metal shavings before starting the car.

Starts car. Now has internal damage due to metal shavings. Also fries ECU on startup.

For some reason he has to use a sawzall under the hood during this process. He cuts a hole in the radiator with his sawzall.

And throughout all this blatant ignorance, the forum members actually went out there and helped him with his car. They even took pictures.

In the face of countless members bashing on him, the guy maintained his cool. The car still doesn't run, but people are putting the guy's name in their sigs, making new names and creating a "fanclub".

This guy is all over a bunch of automotive forums.

To that I say VIVA LA GUMBY!!

    Everyone has to start somewhere.

LMAO, why doesn't this guy just read a book on the subjects he's interested in? That way he doesn't reinvent the wheel and cost himself a ton of money in the process. :sigh: I guess people with too much money and not enough common sense are good for the economy.
