Doesnt matter. if the 400hp car cant actually put his power to the ground it's useless. ;)
300-350hp to the ground out of 400hp > then 200hp + minor bolt ons
A 400 hp car could pussy launch to like a 2.5 60' roll into the throttle and still blow a 200 hp car with minor bolt ons out of the water

Apparantly you have not driven many cars that are OVER powered. Even from a roll there are plenty of cars out there that can dyno 400+hp but whenever they go all out they STILL smoke em. I dont care if it has 400 horsepower or 120 horsepower, quit bench racing and dyno racing and take it to the track. 400+hp is VERY difficult to put down in a FWD car.
Mustangs.. Come to the darkside...

The dark side is the path to the shadow of greed. =D

I'm sure it is... But there are W-bodies in the 10s, along with other FWD cars so it can be done. Just needs to be driven/setup right, its not impossible.
A car can be over powered. But even if its overpowered and spins the piss out of the launch, a 400 hp car is going to beat a v6 f-body. Don't care, I have had 300 hp cars, crap out a launch and still have enough to beat me.

As for everyone else hearing about all this power, stop pouting like someone stuck something in your "boo hoo" hole and be happy for your fellow GM brethren.
OK Kids, make sure you play nice!

What are you talking about? It's easy to put power to the ground. It's called traction!
What do you need to make traction?
Good set of tires and both wheels spinning.
Infact FWD systems lose less power to the ground than RWD and AWD systems.
But due to the design of a FWD driveline, its weaker than a RWD, FWD drivelines usually cannot handle that much torque on a rubber ripper launch
Also, if you're car needs to make a hard 60 foot under 2.0 seconds to make good times then obviously you have a slow car
RX-8 cant make good times without a hard 60 foot, its a fact, it's a slow car. It's a 15 second car without a hard launch LOL
400 HP is not difficult to put down in a FWD car. Infact its so easy to put down the power that you have a good chance to pop the weak design.
HAHA. Not difficult huh? Apparantly you forgot about weight transfer and suspension setups. As well as differential setup, because MOST front wheel drive cars are an open differential meaning its a one wheel driven car.
I dont get where you learned how to drag race, but you obviously dont know much. It takes more than a good set of tires to launch a FWD and race a FWD properly. FWDs suffer from 2 major things, wheel hop and torque steer. Wheel hop? You figure it's got all the weight on the wheels and you're good to go -- wrong.. Weight transfer lifts the weight up and does exactly what you dont want it to do on a front drive car, you want the front end to have a nice squat and go effect. You also want it to go straight, thats where torque steer comes in to play. Being its not only your drive wheels but your steering wheels as well your car will be trying to go anywhere but where you want it to go. ;)
I say 400hp is a good number, great dyno numbers.. But I will be real impressed when its to the track.
Besides, you obviously dont know anything about 60' times either.. *shakes head* Go back to the track and watch some races, maybe once you learn a few more things you'll know what you're talking about ;)
