  • Need software for making thumbnail websites.

Eh, something along the lines of what Dreamweaver and fireworks did when they worked together, but sadly I lost fireworks. So any other stand alone programs out there, freeware preferably or not just tell me a name and Im sure Ill find it. Just to take a folder of pictures, and create thumbnails of those pics, and then have them link to the larger version of that same thumb....but in bulk, kinda like what my Mods and Pics link looks like in my sig. just names would be appreciated.

Get BreezeBrowser. You can download it and trial it for a while, but you cna probably find a crack for it.

It's a great program to view your stuff and automatically generate HTML files for a directory of images. And it's also really easy to customize the look of the HTML files with their template system.

It's what I used to do my pictures @ www.gt-thetachi.org/aeberhard/photos

I just used one of their pre-made templates, but you could make it look any way you want.

Or you could just pay for it and give the programmers some money for their hard word and skill instead of stealing it.

Anyway, I use CompuPic Pro. It does nice work on the thumbnail pages. There is a free trial version and then $80 to purchase. Only the Pro version does thumbnail pages (they have a couple of levels of the software).

Gallery is also supposed to be pretty good, but it is written in PHP (web based) so to use it you need to be running a web server.

that's what I use.. works awesome.. there's a client "Gallery Remote" that does everything for you... uploads, resizes, even change prefs. The install is real easy on the webserver, and changing templates is easy.

I don't know about the best, but it's pretty good. It's what I use.
