• Buddy got a Brand New Mustang GT

One of those retro ones.. here's the scoop:

he paid $29,000 (they sticker for 27)
it's silver (kindof plain, but definately different)
300 hp
mags claim it does like 13.9 @ around 101mph

One of the local dealerships has 3 of them also. Two are V6's that cost $22,000. One was light silver blue and the other was silver. They also had a bright red GT but I couldn't get a good glimpse of it because the dealership was closed. Not sure if I like the car or not... I guess it's cool cuz it's different. It will turn heads.
I also saw an XLR Caddy today in dark red. That car is awesome! Too bad it's 80g's. :( Been seeing a couple of Vettes around also. They are VERY COOL, One caught my eye the other night because of the new lights in the front.

All I kept thinking while I was looking at the Mustang was.... Where is GM's answer to this?

Maybe it's the area, but my friend just ordered an 05 GT two weeks and got it for almost $1,000 under sticker. It probably helped that his mom was ordering one with his and got the same deal on a loaded one, but a dealer 20 minutes away was asking $3,000 over sticker and wouldn't budge.

GM's new answer? Possibly the G6, but I'm sure we will see the new answer in a year or so. Can anyone here say new Camaro?

Rustang is not worth that much. You can buy a nice GTO for a grand more.

GM's answer was putting an end to two American classics. How's that for an answer?

the commercial kicks arse too. its got a red one in a deert with a screen behind it. and it keeps showing old stangs racing, reving the engines of all the different years. its pretty slick.

I seen a GT running 13.9 @ 102 at Milan last weekend
ran a mid 14 first then got it lower, so at least it is respectable

And have you seen pictures of what the new charger is supposed to look like if its released? 300C body w/ magnum front end... ITS A 4 DOOR. most of the time it seems like cars that were awsome originally, died, and were brought back, are never as good the 2nd time

Bingo. Z06 is still pimp in my book. For 35K or so you can get one of them, and thats just sweet.

I heard the new Z06 will have over 500 hp. (around 510) and will have bigger tires in the rear that didn't fit the wheelwell so they had to flare out the fenders!! I'm dying to see how that one's gonna look and perform. (BTW, forgot to add that the new GT (manual) is a 5 speed...)

Hopefully they have stronger rear-ends ;)
if 400 hp is breaking them... 500 will DEMOLISH THEM lol
