• Home gyms.

Ive had a bowflex for about 2 years now. and over all i can say im not really impressed by it. its more of a stay in shape kinda deal than making gains in mass. i dont even wanna talk about the iffy quality. but does any one know of a good home gym for $1000 or less? im lookin for more free weight and pulley wieghts than anything else.

Why not buy a curl bar and some weights?

There are TONS of free weight/plate based home gyms out there for under 1k$. Just take a trip to a local Sporting Goods store and you'll probably see about a dozen of them that would work.

I'd also look into a barbell set. You can usually pick one up for less than $100. Then all you'll need is an adjustable bench, and you can do quite a few different exercises. That and a set of dumbbells

Goes by this list that I have for good quality home gym equipments

            1. Olympic Bar

            2. 4 45lbs plates, 2 35lbs plate, 2 25lbs plate, 2 10lbs plate, 2 5lbs plate

            3. Adjustable free bench (good quality)

            4. Squat rack that has a pull up bar. You can also adapt this to do your bench press. Some squat racks have pulleys and cables and it's plate loading so you could do your back exercise. They are very pricey though. SOme even have leg extentions and leg curls bench that can be attach too.

            5. Buy dumbells by the set. I don't recommend plate loading dumbells because they wear out fast. I don't recommend either a dumbell that's made as a whole. Because in time they crack and you could have a serious accident.

Overall, you might end up spending $5000 on a good home gym equipment. But it would be worth it if you swore to workout all the time and not get lazy.

ones that have a single bar, and you add or remove weight from that bar... as opposed to ones where you have lots of seperate dumbells all w/ different weights on them.
