Gatlinburg TN during winter

Is this a good place to go during winter? My wife and I are thinking about going on vacation there the week after Christmas. Is it going to be a ghost town?

Gatlinburg and Pigin Forge are great places to visit. From my understanding they don't get all that much snow. I've rented cabins several times there in the spring and fall and loved it. and Gatlinburg is kind of an old timey christmas town anyway. I doubt it would be a ghost town.

Wife says that fromnow until the 1 Jan that place is gonna be packed w/tourists & crap. I just came from a weekend down in K-town, and well, see my other post on that. Also, beware the pedestrian. Gatlinburg has multiple places to cross teh road, and pedestrians suposedly have the right of way too. You have been warned.

gatlinburg is great.. i'm goin in febuary sometime i think.. it shuoldnt be a ghost town.. theres another lil town like 20 minutes away from it with a huge strip mall

Last year my family enjoyed Chirstmas in a cabin in the Applachian Mountains of North Georgia. It was the nicest Christmas ever for us. As far as snow, we saw a tiny bit of it at the very tops of a few mountains. That's OK - my kids were amazed just to see icicles and frost.

I think Amy Grant captured the feeling of Christmas in that area:
