• I miss my car :(

Well, it's been nearly 2 months now since I have driven my car. It's sitting outside my house in need of 4 new tires, new front rotors and new front brake pads.

Why is it sitting? B/C it's not inspected, my inspection was up in September. And, with winter approaching (as well as the holidays) I am debating whether I should even worry about scraping together the $$ to get it up and running. I am driving Keith's beater now, and it's okay I guess, I'm just paying to insure and own this camaro right now and it's sitting doing nothing.

In any event. Does anyone know where to get cheap all season tires, or have any suggestions as to what would be a good option to buy, AND the same goes for the rotors...any reccommendations?

well for the rotors/pads, u can go to autozone/strauss discount auto or similar places....they're fairly cheap.

as far as tires go......try like STS or worst come to worse....www.discounttiredirect.com or Ebay even.

I can definitely relate to this situation though....my IROC has not been inspected since September 2003...(it will never pass....due to lack of emission equipments) I drive it every now and again....waiting until I can throw a Historic Plate on it so I don't have to inspect it

honestly as for tires... hit up every major f-body board and check your local sections, f-body people are always getting rid of spare wheels and tires...

I currently have 8 wheels with tires sitting next to me in my bedroom right now...

I picked up a set of firebird 5-stars with tires(yokohama AVS ES100s) that are ~2 millimeters above the wear bar for $60 total, off a guy at cz28.com

heck I got a set of decent tires(forgot what brand, something f-body common) with half life for FREE just had to pick them up and mount them from another guy from cz28.com

try out all the f-body boards.

JC whitney has the cheapest brake parts I have ever seen. I got 2 nice drilled slotted rotors for 120 bucks. I am sure that conventional rotors would be even cheaper. They also have good titanium brake pads for like 20 bucks. I have that stuff installed on my camaro and I have been autocrossing it for 2 years, so I can testify that they are of decent quality.

At my work we still stock replacement rotors for about $20-$25 bucks each. And the "good" Wagner pads for about $40.

Its not expensive just to get it back on the road as long as you aren't wanting to upgrade.
