What others have said, plus sometimes the whe wheels. (A 4th gen V8 should never have hubcaps)

Also, if you're shopping on a lot or can see in the window, the V6's have 120mph speedos, and the V8's 150

The "roof" of a V6 car is going to be the same color as the rest of the car. MOST of the V8 cars had a black roof on silver, green, blue, red, etc cars.

Pretty much what everyone else has stated. But I have seen V6 t-top cars with the black roof. And some Z28's came with 120 mph speedo's. I think because of the tires.

early-mid 4th gens had disks on the 8's and drums on the 6's rear wheels(unless it was a y87), but then they all had disks.

V6es equipped with alloys had 55 aspect ratio tires; V8s had 50.

Not really though with the power adders out there for the 6's. They can put the 8's away.

Did SS's ever came with fixed roof (non T-tops)? I saw pictures of one once and was somewhat confused and it *seemed* a legit SS.

I can always tell by the stance of the car from wider tires and such. The V8's just have such a mean stance to them, maybe I am just weird though.
