I quit ever day!! About 20 times a day in fact.

Seriously, though I've been thinking of quiting, tried it a couple times, and I can make it through the first day but by the 2nd or 3rd day I get terrible headaches.

I smoked my last ciggarette at 4pm (GMT) on Friday 11th Feb, after about 10 years of smoking and I haven't wanted one since.

                I commend your efforts )

This is definitly a step towards improving your overall health. While some have succesfully "kicked the habit cold turkey". Many do find it difficult and frustrating to get over the craving (especially when stress kicks in or when your friends are lighting up right in front of you). There are over the counter products such as the Nicorette patch and gum that are smoking cessation aids, albeit costly, have proven helpful in those trying to rid themselves of this vice. It is important (although some may laugh at this) to enlist your friends and family members assistance in your plight, since many find success with support. If you've tried multiple times in the past, it's okay, it's been shown that the more sincere efforts you make improves the likelihood of you quitting for good. Also, enlish your health care provider, be it your physician or pharmacist, in this endeavor, they can provide even more recommendations and support regarding this topic. Each time you find yourself "falling prey" to temptation, recognize whatlead to your downfall? Was it stress? Was it some peer pressure? Was it the cravings? Undertake a new plan that takes this into consideration. Find a healthy way of relieving stress. Enlist your friend's support when it comes to your goal in quitting smoking. Sincerely explain to them how important this is to you. Discuss shortcomings and obstacles with a health care provider who may be able to provide tips on overcoming them. Whatever it taks, don't give up and know that quitting smoking not only benefits you in significantly reducing many unwanted health risks but also to those you spend time with (in reducing their exposure to second hand smoke).

                Good luck!

I find that the toughest time not to light up is when I'm drinking. I got over not smoking all the time, but I have gone about a month now without smoking at all, even when I'm drinking.
