Well if you want a kick *** system I wouldn't buy a Dell
You can build far better ones
That sucks *** about not being able to play the game, it sounds like the guy is filling you full of crap if you ask me. I would call back and talk to somebody else and see what solution they have for you.

The guy is fool of ****. The game doesn't go "oh, I can't run because this is a laptop"
What is the latest error?
BTW Alienware is extremely overpriced.

Yeah, if you want a nice system, build it yourself. It's still inexpensive to build it to spec yourself, than to pay someone else. I built mine a year ago, and the thing is awesome; I'll never buy a pre-built computer again.

BTW Alienware is extremely overpriced. </font>
My video card is causing the errors. It's the right specs, but for some reason it's tossing errors up. I think it has something to do with their new graphics interface.
I've been putting together systems on Dell, Gateway, and Alienware. Here's basically what I'm wanting performance wise.
- 2 gb ram (1 gb is more than enough, but I'm looking farther into the future)
- Pentium 4 3.4 ghz
- Radeon X800 (Pro or XT) This should be sufficent for anything I want to play for at least 2 years.
- Any decent sound card. That really doesn't concern me. I'm more about performance and graphics.
- 18-20 LCD (Depends on price)
Dell with those basic specs plus a few other things is about $2500.
Gateway is about $1800.
Alienware is nearly $3,000. The case is badass, but not worth $500 extra. Plus it'll take them at least a month to build.

It doesn't say anywhere on the box that you cannot use a laptop. I told him I wanted a refund and he said it would not be honored. So basically, Sony is a bunch of worthless pieces of **** who find every way to ****
Nope, he's right. There's a handful of games that won't run on my HP Pavilion ze5170 because of video driver conflicts. One I can specifically think of is Command & Conquer: Generals. It even says so on EA's website. Companies use ****ty components to build their laptops because of the price of making things small enough. nVIDIA doesn't even offer drivers for the cheap video chipsets they provide for laptops.

That's preference. I have an AMD in my basement that runs like ***. Worst computer ever. Thing has a heating issue which in turn made us put a heavyduty fan in it. Sounds like a dustbuster when it's in use.
Whereas my Intel is flyin'. Not a single issue. :D
I have had 4 AMD computers and heat was never an issue.. exact opposite heh. I have an AMD with the retail heatsink and fan right now... its quiet and cool. I've never had a problem with heat and AMD..
I thought intel runs hotter on average than AMD? Makes sense to me... my 2.1Ghz run faster than my friend's 3.06HT
i run a dual athlon xp-m system overclocked.... that means two heatsyncs and overclocked means more heat! Never a problem.. Intel has this sensor what when the cpu gets hot it lowers the clock speed so the cpu doesnt burn up or the computer wont crash but if you stick to stick hs/f and have a lot of air coming in it shouldnt be a problem..
