The weed doesnt lead to harder drugs, the people selling weed lead to people trying harder drugs. If it were legal there would be no push on people to buy harder drugs. However i beleive it is the right of any person to ingest any amount of any substance. If they can't control themselves from trying it then its there own fault. God forbid we ask for responsibility from our citizens. The governments main job is not to protect you from yourself.

So, you're saying just because you and some people believe it should be illegal, you feel it's appropriate to project your beliefs on other people's lifes and make them harder (arrests, high street prices), just because they believe otherwise, and it's not hurting you or any other given person in any way, shape or form? Unless used irresponsibly, I could understand, however, it is individual's sole responsibility to be responsible for their actions (such as driving while intoxicated). Know your substance, have a sitter if you're too unsure.
Define who the victim is... if a person has 1/8 on him and get arrested... all he wanted to do was to smoke a join of weed in privacy of his own home.
Legalizing weed is like tossing gasoline on a fire to put it out. It's not going to make more people responsible smokers. If that worked then people wouldn't drive drunk. It's legal to drink alochol, but people still drive intoxicated.1998 A4 Pontiac Firebird

Therefore you're implying that if one (or certain percentage) of people cannot take responsibility for their actions, the rest are assumed to be the same way?
If that's the case, we should ban cars, airplanes, all weapons, all knifes (including kitchen), all means of creating fire (because some people are careless!)... is that your agenda? Your thinking is one step away from totalitarian government.

people who drive impared may cause accidents, but people drive under the influence of alch and its legal to drink, why should weed be illegal just b/c someone might drive under the influence?
legalization wont increase the number of smokers significatly, if you want to smoke now its not hard to get it, and even if you get busted its a slap on the wrist. $90 ticket if you get caught for possesion here.RedlineVSix

Health: It causes health problems, sure. Everything does. Alcohol causes the same, if not more, health problems.
Money: More and more of our tax money is going against this fight on drugs. Why not just add a tax to those who smoke and have it fund certain aspects in our country rather than blowing millions of dollars on a war on drugs (only Marijuana in this reference) that we WILL NOT win.
Social: You see it everywhere. I can rattle off recent motion pictures that make reference to it, along with normal sitcoms, books, websites, etc. Hell, other countries have legalized it because they don't see it being a threat. It should be treated like alcohol as many said in this thread.
You can't base judgement on the few that make the wrong decisions. That's not plausible. Why? It happens every day with alcohol, yet there are very few restrictions on the substance.
I could go on and on about this, but I'd just be wasting my time. Just felt like I had to chime in again. 2002 NBM Firehawk #312 | hawk.visionsconnect.com

If there could be legalization of weed and i would stay unnaffected i could care less. Im 16 never smoked a cigarette or tried weed. I dont really even want to try either of them. If weed became legalized i wouldnt want to have to smell it or see it. I doubt this law will get passed due to old folks running the country at the time. Maybe when our generation takes over the white house these changes will actually be pushed. I dont agree with smoking weed cause i have friends that do that **** and are burnouts at 16.1994 Arctic White Camaro T-Tops(all options except leather)
80 Series Flowmaster Muffler
Ebay Cold Air Intake
Earthquake in the back known as a Kicker Solo Baric 15 L7

http://www.cardomain.com/id/sirshaun
