**** Hotmail. As of today Hotmail users can no longer download their mail from Outlook Express without paying for a premium account.

It would be bad enough if they just admitted they wanted my money, but their explanation is as follows:

To protect our users from the increasing amount of unsolicited junk e-mail or spam sent from MSN HotmailSympatico Mail accounts through Outlook and Outlook Express, we have reluctantly had to restrict the new use of Outlook and Outlook Express to subscribers.

By making this feature part of a subscription, (which requires a user to provide billing information), we can more effectively manage and put a stop to abuse of this functionality, and help protect you and others from unsolicited mail.

What a load of ****. Just another case of Microsoft trying to get money for something that you can get for free elsewhere.

Time to set up my GMail account for POP access. I hope Hotmail dies.

In the Gmail settings, there's a page for it. It has step by step instructions with pics. ;)

Oh, because I remember not to long ago, like 2 days ago, I tried to use Outlook Express, and it said I cannot do that at this time.

Hotmail fuggen blows. I stopped using them 3-4 years ago after they started selling my email address :mad:

Yahoo is decent but gmail is where it's at :cool:

Actually, 99% of the time I use my email@my domain :D It gets interesting response from people...
