• 3.4 vs. 5.0????!!!!

OK. I got a 95 3.4l V6 Camaro. I want to be able to smoke a stock 5.0 Stang. What can I do to my car to make that happen? Here's the downer though. No engine swap, and no NOS. Still possible?

This isnt advanced tech.

But, if you ported the heads, bored the engine and increased the compression slightly, put a nice cam in there, some nice valvetrain components, ported the upper and lower intakes, you could do it n/a. But that work would cost like $5K for it to all be done.

Turbo would do it.
Blower would do it.

I honestly wouldnt worry about it in a 3.4 unless you did a turbo.

First you'll need to wake up, then stop dreaming while you're sleeping

Making the 3.4 that fast costs a lot of money... your best bet is a turbo, but if you can't do a motor swap I don't know what you'll do if your 3.4 dies from too much boost

If you do every other mod.. bolt-ons, cam, heads, etc... I think the only thing you'll be able to beat is a stock GT, since a modded GT can see 13s easily, where an N/A 3.4 probably never will

But seriously, consider what you're doing... spending all that money to run 14s or 15s... I just can't justify it.

Uhm, he said stock 5.0, so thats kinda easy just need some decent mods like head porting, CAI, gears(forsure), exhaust, pullies, you could probably get away w/ that, it's enought to muster out some soso hp. This guy I used to work w/ ran a 16.1 consistently w/ his 5.0 and it had an exhaust.

Im not a fan of Mustangs AT ALL, actually I despise them, but I know a 5.0 has more in it then 16.1. Your friend cant drive.
