  • Subaru Baja.

thinking of getting a subaru baja over a honda accord. i want to get a truck with the mileage of a car and 4 wheel drive. this rig seems perfect, but im still skeptical.

its either this new rig for 20,000+ or another used rig. i dont know if i should go used though. i buy a $5000 rig and it breaks down it'll cost me 1/3 the price of the car to keep it going. im trying to think of the best way to be practical as far as a vehicle for the next 10+ years or so.

what dont you guys/gals like about the baja?

    why wouldnt you get one?

should i just get a light truck instead?

    hmmmm

Maybe I just bias but my first car was 83 el Camino and then I saw that Baja come out in I thought it was ugly as sin. However, it does seem versatile. Then again, you could prolly get a Chevy Colorado crew cab for around the same price as the Baja.

You could probably get a colorodo cheaper...

but I am willing to bet the Baja, is billion times more fun to drive...

didn't the turbo model click off a 13.9?

I dont know about that, thats almost as fast as subaru's flagship STi, so I'm guessing its slower.

I would take the S10 or Colorado I4 over the Baja. It is not a popular Truck/Car and the look saids it all.

I like the Baja... but the last time I looked, you could easily get a small 4-door 4x4 truck for cheaper.

The bed looks small, but I think they're cool.

                  ^^^ Ouch

People say subaru is a love hate type thing on styling. Yeah I love my wrx. But the Baja??

2x on Chevy Colorado, starts at 15G I think.

If you are looking to go soon, gm still has the employee pricing on colorodo/canyennes...

as much as i like chevys and more than any other car. the subaru will out handle it anyday since it its a car. im not going to be 4x4ing it. subaru will out handle it on gravel, snow, ice, pavement.

monotone color looks best, but yeah it is goofy looking. i drove the turbo it is maybe a 15 flat, i dont think its any faster. 3500 lbs, 210 hp and 235 tq.

i made up my mind though, im not getting the colorado. no resale, and i dont think it will last as long as the subaru.

2x truck is worthless on anything but pavement if you going to be practical.

i cant say for sure im getting the baja, but if i get a truck it will be a toyota. they are more reliable and have better resale than chevrolet. im a huge chevy fan too, but stats are stats

ohh so its 210/235 sounds like the normal WRX drivetrain...

relatively easily upgradeable, you coudl probably make it low 14s, high 13s... and like you said its pretty sporty(well compared to trucks) when you drive it.

but it is ugly as homemade sin. Then again its not your "pimp car" is it...
