Well the suspensions are out, I give props to the NBA for giving people their due.

I do hope Oakland County comes down on certain fans as well. To suggest that they all should be banned though is crazy. 20-30 people were the culprits and 40-50k should suffer????
What\'s her last name? I\'ll look it up.
You know I don\'t recall. Swim, Swammy, Slippy, Slappy, Simmons, Sommons, Swenson, Swanson?
Maybe it\'s on the briefcase.
Oh yeah! It\'s right here, Samsonite! I was way off! I knew it started with an S though!

Funny how Artest walked away from Wallace but was quick to run up on the fans. Why is that?

Could it be that Artest has more courage when fighting drunk fans instead of someone like Wallace. It's probably a good thing, as I think Wallace would win in a one-on-one. But that's just my opinion.

Anyhow, Artest got his wish. The next 30 days (and then some) can be commited to promting his new album.

Putting the fan fight aside, I can't blame Wallace too much. Everyone knows Artest and his eratic behaviour. Getting a hard foul from that guy is rarely, if ever an accident.

I am not justifiying any of it, just Wallace being pissed about the hard foul.
This crap against the Pacers is complete BULL****!!!! I think the minute the fan threw the beer at Artest, this no longer became a basketball game against the Detroit Pistons, but a fight, 25 Pacer personnel against 12,000+ Detroit dumbasses. I would love to see those fans try to sue some of the Pacers, this would be great. They will LOSE in a heartbeat. And for anyone blaming Artest for this whole thing, you are stupid, HE DIDN'T START IT AT ALL!!! The ****ing Detroit scum that was at that game started it. You know what they ought to do, SUSPEND ALL HOME GAMES AT THE PALACE!!!! Let Detroit play their home games at a neutral site.

You idiots that said this was completely Artest fault, can't be more wrong. Ben did the shoving, and Artest was a bigger man to walk away. Wanna suspend someone, suspend Wallace indefinitely. I can see where Artest was in the wrong, and he does deserve punishment, but like I said, he didn't start any of this. Ben Wallace and the Detroit Dumba**es started that crap.

BTW, if these lawsuits follow through, you Detroit fans better kiss the Pistons goodbye. Pacers can definitely sue the Detroit Piston organization for what happened last night.
Actually , you are right , I was thinking about this today when I watched it again . I was thinking , hey you know what , that jackass in the stands started it all really .! Artest didn't start all of this , HOWEVER , fans are not allowed in the stands . Law enforcement should have arrested the guy for throwing the drink at him .However , before it could happen Artest blew his top , but I cant much blame Artest . However , it takes two to tango ...I think more of Artest than I do of the animal that threw the drink at him .

He walked away because he knew that the shove was for a uncalled for foul. Taking crap from other players is something you used to, but getting a plastic cup weighed down with beer in the jaw is not something you would normally expect.

That act by a fan was disgracefull. Charging into the stands wasn't the best move, but I can almost gaurantee that there were going to be several more cups and bottles raining down no matter what action was taken. I say permanently ban and charge EVERY fan that they can identify. I've been to a few football games and baseball games and never felt the need to huck things at other people.

I agree. The fan who threw the beer should have had the **** kicked out of him. BUT Jackson and O'Neil had no place in the fight. Jackson went into the stands looking for someone to hurt. O'Neil had intentions of getting into the middle of the fight, but was restrained from joining in. He had no reason to hit the guy on the floor at all. Jackson and O'Neil are both going to go bankrupt after these guys sue them.

If you have never been in a game where people chuck beer at the players or referees, then stay the hell out of Cleveland. The dog pound is the reason they no longer serve glass bottles of beer.

"The suspension will cost Artest over $5 million in salary and will certainly cost the Pacers a chance to contend for the NBA title this year.
                              "

fans could piss on me if I was getting 5 mill. Baby can't take a little beer so he loses 5 mill. Probably 10 from lost endorcements.

How many here would let a little beer throwing cost you 10 mill????

Id laugh when I got hit with beer. As 2 mins later when they id who did it. They get booted out of the stadium and banned.

"Regardless of the behavior of fans, players cannot attack paying customers unless their lives or physical safety are in immediate danger. Furthermore, if there is an altercation with fans, athletes must use the minimum force necessary to defend themselves and no more. "

"Artest has a history of anger management issues and was suspended by the league twice in 2003-2004
and five times the year before. "

how many of us are makeing a NBA players salary though?

Basketball is what these guys do for a living, the court is like their office. If someone came into your office and threw a beer into your face what would you do?
