price of candy

ok well i'm ticked. i went to the vending mach to get my candy like i do everyday, 1 pack of resse cups and a snickers. they were 50 cents each. i go there today and BAM 70 cents. what is that! candy is getting crazy. i need a min of 4000 calories a day so i don't lose weight so candy bars are a quick fix for me, anyway, why is candy prices going nuts! i was in a local mini mart the other week and saw a normal size candy bar for 95 cents. and the king size was double that. I MEAN COME ON NOW. ok i feel better just had to vent

There's other, much healthier, ways to take in calories.

oh yeah i know and i do eat healthy. it's just that i'm on my feet all day at work and lifting heavy boxes, steps, etc i never get to really sit down much. so i have my candy bars that i will eat as i work. i'm 100 pounds now on the dot and i don't want to be below that. thank god i have alot of muscle and you can't see my bones too much!

Screw vending machines, buy in bulk of your favorite assorted candies. This way you're thinking with your head & wallet rather than a fit of choice. I see this very commonly with smokers who drop $6.00 in quarters to satify a craving at a bar. In vending machines I recently saw a $100 Grand candy bar go for .80 cents, a bag of potato chips for .70 cents, do the math the list goes on lol! My weakness is them Reeses Peanut Butter Cups but I rather buy a bag of them ( 30pc ) for less than $2.50 and save the money. :cool:

The machine... its the guy that owns the machine...

whatever candy sells well they up the price at my work, the machine had yoohoo, machine would run out in like a 36 hours. We begged for him to take something lame like hawaain punch our and put more yoohoo in, what does he do? Ups yoohoo from $0.50 to $0.65!

We boycotted it for like 3 weeks just for the principle!

I wanna tell my boss to get rid of the vender and I'll put my own machine in there, I'd likely make my money back, I'd fill it half with yoohoo.


btw local grocery store today, as I checked out, got 4 candy bars, normal sized, kitkat, twix milky way and 3 musketeer. $0.49 a piece.

I am a bit amazed at how cheap candy is in general. Plus, it is being sold everywhere you look. The price of sugary stuff in general has fallen greatly over the past 15 years.

During that same time, so many people I see everwhere now look like they are "inflated" - kinda like the Michelin Man.

So, if it has gone up a bit lately, it seems like a blip compared to the larger trend.
