• Got off the phone with Yank converters, 4,000 stall on its way!

http://www.converter.cc/inventory/GM...al_motors2.htm

Well, I previously ran:
Pro Yank 3200 nitrous converter.
STR 2.8
Effeciency of 95.5% to 96% at 5,800 rpm's
With my 3:23's I could stall it to 3,000-3,100 rpm's.

It cost me $700 :( BUT it knocked 0.7 seconds off my ET!!!! WELL WORTH IT!
Best 60 ft w/ 3:23's N/A 1.88
Best 60 ft w/ 3:23's 100 shot spinning to 1.58

Well, with Craig breathing down my neck for N/A times and lack of umph for burn outs (3:23's) I upped the gears to 4:10's. Now I have more umph through the rear and at 2,500 - 2,600 I would spin the tires.

I did some research and saw that, per Yank, with 4:10's a 3,600+ converter is needed. I gave them a phone call and spoke with their tech dept several times. At that point we decided to send my current Pro Yank 3200 out and see if we could restall it.

It arrived today, they inspected it and said per its design they could get up to 3,600 max out of it.

He mentioned the perfect one for me would be based off a Super Stock style
Super Stock 4,000 stall, 245mm, 2.6 STR

They will begin custom building me a new converter based off their Super Stock design
N/A I should see a stall of 3,800-4,000
Nitrous.... don't worry about it ;)

It takes 3-5 business days to build.
Cost will be $825 shipped

In theory, if all goes well, I may be able to debut this converter on the May 6th f body vs stang shootout but I dunno if I'll be all healed up by then.

Now I gotta find a buyer for my old converter?!?!?!?!

He mentioned the perfect one for me would be based off a Super Stock style
"Super Stock" is a term they use for a stock V6 converter that is re-stalled. Usually they don't "build" a new one, they take one off the shelf and re-stall it.
Did they clarify that? Or are they actually taking and building something totally different for you? Either way, I'm wondering how you would drive that on the street... I think that's gonna take some getting use to.... especially when you try to accelerate under normal conditions.

This might be where you had no luck with converters.

This is not a v6 stock torque converter restalled to this level.

I don't think I know ANY company that could take a stock converter and bend the fins to reach a 4,000 level with a 2.6 STR.

My homework paid off previously with my 3200 Pro Yank whjich knocked off 0.7 seconds in my ET.

I'm quite confident this 4,000 Super Stock will work out VERY well for me.

It is not a generic converter, if it was I would have it already.

It takes 3-5 business days to make.

Yank is VERY good for me! This is my opinion.
I think Edge converters are worthless! NO ONE on the site has produced impressive #'s (60 ft etc) with an edge

My opinion

Updated... cause I stand corrected
