Sometimes that's all one can afford to do.

They basically tell me what I can and can't spend my money on. They keep telling me stuff to do to my car. Why can't they just ****ing leave me be with my ****ing car. The tires are bald so I get tires (they bought em, I paid them back). It's loud so they say make it quiet. They hear 2.5" flowmaster and say get that. I dont really want 2.5" flowmaster. I offer, what about a borla muffler on the end (not the bullet, the actual muffler). They say no. I have a slight oil leak (about on drop a day) and it doesn't even get on the driveway because I put stuff under the car once I park. They tell me before I do anything else I have to get that fixed. What the ****, stop telling me what to do with my hard earned ****ing money! I hate this **** so bad. I've been busting my *** lately to do whatever I can to get money for the car and they just shut me down and tell me what to do with it. AHHHHH!!!! [/rant]
I went through the same emotional wringer that you are right now.

Thankfully, after watching both of my parent's caskets be lowered into their eternal graves, I feel better now.

They can't tell me what to do now about anything! :D

Hopefully the same can happen for you my friend.

As long as you live with them you have to show respect and obey the rules they set forth.

I went through the same thing. But now that I think about, I'm sort of glad they were strict with me.

You can always room and board with another family or someone. I only have to pay $300 a month back then. The only thing I paid for was food, cloths, and other things.

You got a safety net you will never have again. Be smart and use it wisely.

Until you can afford to live on your own, I would abide by their rules completely. They're letting you live under their roof, and showing concern and care for you. What they're telling you now is annoying as hell, but it's very very good advice. I used to think I'd have so much money to spend on my car based on my income back when I was a few years younger, now that I'm in my own place I realize how quickly that paycheck disappears to all the random bills. My parents still support me and pay for part of my college expenses, and without them there would be no way I could be going to school and having a decent time while down here.

I have been there... parents still tell me what to do but i have learned from my mistakes from before. I moved out right after I graduated art school, always **** away my money and my boyfriend and I had gotten evicted from our apartment. You can guess where i had to come back to... then they left me alone pretty much. I am now back on my feet, saving money as I live here and its all much better now. But seriously, I know how ya feel. My parents and i never got along and now we are doing fine. I have a better job now (as before).
