Need to add music to one of my powerpoint projects. Can't seem to figure it out. Thanks.

What kind of music file? I think all you need to do is insert an object for the type of file you want, then when showing your slideshow click on the object and it will open an external player to play it.

to put stuff in the background, go to

      Insert>Movies and Sounds>Sounds from file

then to make it last for more then one slide instead of ending after you go to the next one, go to

      Slide Show>Custom Animation

double click said sound and tweak options.
