Well I start my new job tomorrow!! I'm nervous!! I have the tendency to studder when I get nervous, or excited.. and thats bad for my job, so I hope I do alright.
They say they will work around my school schedule, thats the big thing, if they don't I can't keep it long :( That's alright though, the police department says if I will work there they will work around my schedule, so it all works out!
I'm start Dispatch tomorrow at the Emergency Medical Service station... and it will be the same thing at the police department, however they will send me to be a police officer if I want.. But with the one I'm doing now, I have Emergency tags, which means I can legally have strobes and things on my car. heh

Why the hell did I never think of working for the PD back in my school days? That's an awesome idea, and as long as you are a decent person and people like you, its basically a guaranteed way out of tickets...

b/c its a bit harder than just turning in an application. </font>
Doesn't take away from the point that it's still a good idea, and I still didn't think of even looking into it. I don't know what it takes but I did know a couple officers there at the time who could have possibly pointed me in the right direction.
Well... that was... stressful.. My first day, and I get to take my first call where I had to dispatch lifeflight! mutiple stab wounds to head, neck and torso... I train this week and next week on first shift, and then the two weeks after that on 3rd shift.. But heck, for starting out, training I'm getting $8.50/hour that's pretty good for an 18 year old around here...

Yup, nature of the job!
Just take your time and remain calm...... in your position you will offer a soothing/ calming point of reference for any emergency workers and any people who need your help.
Congrats!
