They make you wear the uniform there as a student?

Not a fan of the Delta Connection Academy, but good luck there.

I'm a student at ERAU. Currently have my Commercial (Single and Multi) and Instrument. Starting CFI + CFII in 2 months.

man, your school kicks ***! how long have you been flying? the closest thing we have to that here is an aviation elective. I always wanted to be a pilot, but then my parents and girlfriend got me to stop dreaming and sent me to business school. Look where i am today

Awesome man and yeah we have to wear uniforms. They're kinda cool but they are whicked hot and restrictive sometimes. I flew in jeans and a polo today and it was much more comfortable.

I've been flying with school for a week now. 10 hours so far and 15 landings. But I've been flying with my cousins husband in his 172 for a year or so.

What kind of classes do they have there? Just basic ground school stuff, or actual classes?

What kind of degree do you get from it?

Just curious to hear about it from someone on the inside.

For the private students theres a 3 hour ground school every night. Like me, I fly in the morning and have ground school in the evening. The instrument, commercial, MEI, CFI and CFII have classes. There really is no degree from the program, you get all your ratings from PP to commercial and from CFI to MEI to ATP. After you teach for 10-12 months you get a gaurenteed interview with Comair, ACA, ASA, Chatageua (sp?), American Eagle, and Continental Express. Im forgetting one. You do have the option to go to DCA part time and college part time for your degree. But alot of people that get hired by the regionals do their degree's online while with the regionals. It really is a good school, theres just alot of storeys from people that have quit due to various reasons. They told us upfront flying is a skill that has to be learned at your own pace. Their percentage of graduates getting hired is accurate. Last month 14 out of 14 that graduated got hired with Comair and the month befor that 7 out of 8 got hired by a regional. They are soon transitioning to a Part 142 school with brand new Cirrus aircraft and I believe level 6 sim too. My class should be the first instructors on the new Cirrus planes. Anyways its a good place, if you want any more info just ask man.

Cool Matt I didn't know you went to Embry riddle... they have a car club that autocrosses with my autocross club every now and then.

so both you guys are going to be a pilot, I always wanted to be and used to want to be a pilot, but I am a bit big, and have poor eyesight... so I started to lose some interest in it and thats when my interest in cars that I always had picked up

Yeah, I just finished up my junior year. 1 more year and I'm outta here!

Eric, let me know if you ever wanna go flying. I rent out of Orlando Exec, and I'd be more than happy to take you up. Always looking for a reason to go flying. ;)
