The Ford GT40 actually had the same downforce problem when it was first made in 64/5(lack of enough in the front)-read in Car and driver that they, the new 1's have been recalled do to controll arm problems i think

it was my understanding that the original gt40's didnt have much downforce, rather they had lift at high speeds! not good at all.. but hey, they were fast as hell, even if they were fords..
