on the people that are concerned about MAD, let me remind you that we aren't shooting at the russians. They are on the terrists hitlist too.

And thus there is the beauty of theater nuclear weapons...how many times have our cruise missiles been returned by another cruise missile? ;)

Point is, as long as you aren't using tridents or another spacebound ICBM you can do about whatever and you won't be shot at by russia or anyone else for that matter. Cruise missiles with tactical nukes could go in under radar and strike a target. No worry for MAD, but there would be lots of people pissed off at the UN.

Off hand, as or the whole nuke thing... Just because you have a nuclear bomb doesn't mean you have the funds and technology for an ICBM. I think only us Russia, and China actually have ICBMs.

We operate oblivioiusly assuming that terrorism is a middle eastern artform. Truthfully, terrorism is and has been for all of time a problem birthed and nurtured in the sick minds of disturbed, insecure human beings whose only thrill in life is to strike fear in every heart they can as often as they can. Hitler was a terrorist, Kruschev was a terrorist, Lenin, Stalin, MaoTseTung,Alexander the Great, Atilah the Hun,and a host of others. Here at home, those two insufferable cowards who murdered hundreds of people in the Murrah building at Kansas City just a few years ago. Try the unabomber, he's famous for rigging mailboxes with deadly results. Usama Bin Laden is no one we've never met before. The media, as one friend above observes, helps us paint these people into dark heroes of sorts so some red headed american kid named O'brien can temporarily lose his marbles and find his lost self in Islam. Next thing you know, he's got a shoulder mounted grenade launcher aimed at one of our patriots.
No, you'll never stop terrorism...its as old as Satan himself. And as for our elected officials, they're just men. Republican or Democrat...cut 'em they still bleed American. I'd still love to know how many cases of preparation H JFK went through before the end of the Cuban Missle standoff in the 60s. That, my friends was terrorism. Hitler and Hussien had much in common....they both experimented in genocide while justified themselves with the pretzel logic sludging from thier twisted minds.
Terrorism has three components...a "cause", a curse, and a crusader. In other words..a lie...an ought...and a poor moron to carry out some cowardly self-appointed messiah's dirty work.
Bin Laden believes so much in his "jihad"...why wasn't he in one of those planes on 9-11-01. I'll tell you why...because his faith is foundationless. His God, like his morals are as dead as the rotting remains in the cemetaries surrounding his temple and as still and lifeless as the rocks of ToraBora under which he hides.
One hope...one hope alone, friends...his name is Jesus.

I am glad they got a couple Frenchies... I hope they're killed. Perhaps then they will rethink their views. I think they'll blame the US instead though.
