What do you think of DVD players in vehicles?

Man Sentenced for Watching Pron in CarAug 28, 8:30 PM (ET)

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (AP) - A man who was watching a pornographic movie in his car as police pulled up behind him has been sentenced to three weekends in jail.

Andre Gainey, 35, was arrested in February after police said images from the movie could be seen from outside his Mercedes as he drove through the city 11 miles west of Albany.

Police, who pulled up behind Gainey at an intersection, said the movie was playing on screens set into the passenger-side sun visor and the car's headrests.

Gainey, who was sentenced Friday, pleaded guilty in June to misdemeanor public display of sexual material.

If you have one for show cool I guess but watching it while you’re driven a lil much. Now if you have it so your passengers can watch or for the people with kids to keep them in quite in the car then I think that’s fine. I just feel it’s a lil much when people have like 8 LCD displays in one car I just like think to my self why?

dvd players are just fine without regulation. But that guy is a dumbass for watching it while driving. For christ sake it was in the passenger side sun visor. Was he sitting sideways chocking the chicken while driving? However if he was just pimping then there is no problem other than the public display of sexual material IMO.

i think dvd players in cars are stupid and dangerous. even if the driver isnt watching the screen, another driver usually is. and laying porn, i hope he gets a long *** sentence

I have a DVD player in the 'maro along with 5 screens, here in TX you can get busted for any screens infront of the driver.

But i wouldnt be stupid enough to watch while driving.

I think if that guy would of been watching Finding Nemo instead of p0rno he woulodnt of got pulled over. But yet here in H-Town thats all i ever see getting played on tv screens.

I am usually pretty careless about this stuff, let people do whatever they want ya know... but if somebody had a clearly visible 7" screen in front of me playing porn I'd probably cause a traffic accident.

How can other drivers keep their eyes off the porn, either attracted or disgusted by it?

DVD Player in car = ok
Porn on said DVD Player = bad

I have a dvd screen on mine and I watch it on the highway. Backroads mind you bad me I know but o well.

haha i did the EXACT same thing that guy did. In my old '78 camaro i had a 5" screen mounted on the dash, and when my friends and i would pull into the local hangout/meeting place, i'd play the porn and have it blasting through my system. got a few looks for that one...gotta love those immature high school days.
