Old Older Metallica, specifically, blackened, damage inc, battery, dyer's eve.

above were some good suggestions, but through in a little KoRn(not all of their songs) and maybe some Dimmu Borgir.

    I also really like Offspring-Bad habit ;)

and for some happy fast music, listen to Rhapsody "Dawn of Victory"

#1. Old Metallica (Ride The Lightning to the "Black" album)

#2. Slipknot - especially their new album. "Duality" kicks ***.

#3. Mudvayne - "Dig" is a great song to get pumped to, as is "Not Falling".

#4. System of A Down - "Sugar" is a great lifting choice, the end of the song will literally have you wanting to kill someone.

#5. Disturbed - their first album Down with the Sickness is a good lifting album.

#6. Godsmack - most of their songs are good choices.

#7. Korn - "Got the Life", "Blind", etc.

Just be careful, sometimes you'll want to listen to the music more than lift.

The whole Kill 'em All CD and some Master of Puppets, possibly even some of And Justice for All. Metallica rules all.

It depends on my day, but I usually find something as hard and "full of energy" as I can. Slayer, Slipknot, some Mudvayne, Metallica, etc. It usually gives me an extra "omph" for some reason. I also use a radio station trance sometimes.

You could try some industrial dance or trance... Infected Mushroom, Trance Control, VNV Nation, Funker Vogt is good...
