• Help me pick a new car?

I'm on snowbird status waiting for my WOC class to start, so help me pick a car. My main concern is I need somthing that is fun to drive, must be a stick, and it must be reliable, I'm thinking some what classy, and not too flashy. looking to spend 15-27k. Needs to have a sweet sounding exhaust. Keep in mind I'm 6-4, so leg room is a concern as well.

along the lines of
97-00 C5 vette.
04 GTO
LS1 F-body. Hard to find low miles well kept for a resonable price.
Mustang GT.
350Z
RX8
S2000
Z4

I'd like to hear any oppinions any of you have on the matter. Keeping in mind I will not be selling the turbo v6, just looking for a sweet daily driver. Thanks

Well - at your height... Get rid of the S2k & Z4.. I have sat in both, and at 6'2" *I* find it difficult to get in and out of both of them at this height.

In MN are you sure you want a RWD sports car though, or do you have another vehicle for daily driving?

If it were *me*, I'd probably go with the GTO or Stang.. But don't get just a GT. Go with a Saleen S281, Roush Stang, Cobra, or Mach 1
Mustangs.. Come to the darkside...

The dark side is the path to the shadow of greed. =D

I'd vote for the Mustang GT or a GTO. If I needed to battle snow in the winter i'd get an impreza WRX.

Yea, deffinately go for a mach 1 or 03-04 cobra if your gonna get a stang.

if your looking for reliability something quick with a manual tranny and a mellow exhaust sound id get a audi. probably consider a the s line though like a used s4 would be great.

from personal experience, C5s are reliable and have enough leg room for you...i think.

the LS1 IMO has a good exhaust note (V8 mustang is really nice too) and its fun to drive obviously

i like the 04ish model V8 mustangs and a cobra would be cool to own but i dont like how mustangs drive. too much like a sedan for me. if your thinking GTO, get an 05 with an LS2. dont waste your money w/ an LS1 when you can get a used LS2 GTO for a couple thousand more which should still be in your price range.

I'm with the Audi guys... an S4 should be very comfortable and perform pretty well. It won't have the same sound as a small block, but it still sounds great. You can drive it year-round in MN. There's a pretty decent aftermarket, but it might be a little pricey.
