If all you think about is wrecking your car, your most likely gonna wreck it. Besides, you should know better than most on here that a wrecked car can be fixed, is this not what you just did to your car? So my advice to you is to relax, your not gonna enjoy driving your car if your too nervous to keep your legs steady.

ps, you think your legs shake a lot now, wait till your first race ;) adrenaline = legs shaking.

haha, my cusin plans on takeing me to the track ASAP, he goes every friday with his neon ( dont laugh yet ) it was just a non-turbo one, over the winter ( now still ) he's putting on a turbo kit, cant wait untill spring to see what it runs.

i know cars can be fixed and all obviously. but i know how upset ill be, hopefully i'll calm down soon.

i used to be pretty stiff behind the wheel.

the first time i really had to do any driving on my own was my 20mile commute to school. all highway and stuff.

stayed in the middle lane, windows up, two hands on the wheel, for the begining of the week.

come that thursday im crusin around with one hand in the left lane with the tops down and the radio blasting.

i still dont feel comfortable behind the wheel of any other car than an fbody since its really all ive ever driven its also the most comfortable car ive ever driven. i love the legs straight forward sitting position.

anyway...its all about getting used to it.

so far ive never been in any major accidents (knock on wood) since november of 05 when i started driving (im a late bloomer.)

however, i hit a curb once backing up (minor scratch on my bumper), ran into and over a curb destroying my two right wheels, front spindle, lca, etc.

also spun out 3 times in the rain, and once today on ice. luckily no one was around the first three times, and by the 4th time today i was able to correct it, if i didnt i wouldve flown into a line of cars at the red light

exhuast should be on by my b-day ( auguast) im gonna go half in on a grill with my brother for my b-day. and as soon as it gets nicer ( when its above 20* ) ill start blacking out my tail lights and turn signals. then im going to get a pro 5.0 for christmas, and tint a little after. and over next winter ( yes im planning very far ahead ) ill save up for pacesetters.

I'd say wait a little bit on the performance mods (maybe an exhaust would be good). Wait about a year (maybe half a year) after you start driving it to let yourself get comfortable with the car. The 3.8 may only be a V6, but it is by no means sluggish, especially for a first time driver. I'd say either spend the money on other stuff (appearence, stereo, etc...), or save it up and buy a lot at once. For all you know, you could suck at shifting, and burn out the clutch a month after you start driving it. I'm not saying you will, but it could happen.

im very much aware earnheart, i drive my brothers accent ( beater car ) alot, its the stock clutch anyway, and has 41K on it, so if i burn it up its no big deal. the car isnt gonna be any faster ( not really anything major) with an exhuast. im just doing it for sound. and im already gonna have the apperance pretty much done. thanks for your concern, nice to see people care. thanks again guys.

the one is really bent, all 4 tires are bald. and one other one has curb rash like you wouldnt belive. i was gonna use them as winter rims but i dont know if i can use the bent one or not yet.
