Picked the block up from the machine shop today. It's going back tomorrow. :mad: When I left the block, there was a small groove in the #2 cyl. When I got home with it today, the #2 looked great. #7 on the other hand had a big groove in it. The shop has a very good rep around town though, I am confident that they'll take care of me. I just hope they don't have to bore it, otherwise I'll be sending back my new pistons. :(

Anywho... hopefully this just turns out to be a minor bump in the road and I'll be able to reassemble the motor this weekend. Then there's the tranny to deal with...

Somewhat new specs to me...I assume it's for the LS1. Who spec'd it/had it ground for ya? It'll be a stout setup! Any extra stroke for the motor? How much gear and stall are yu putting behind it?

This is Thunder Racing's T-Rex version 2 cam, with a little bonus I guess.

No extra stroke for the motor. Forged rods and pistons (WITH valve reliefs!), LS6 valves, ARP studs for everything. 3.73 gear and currently a yank ST3500 that actually stalled around 3900 on the old setup (TR230 cam). The tranny is getting a rebuild while the car is down and the converter is going back to Yank to be upgraded to a SS3800 which I imagine will actually stall a little over 4000.

Stock gear? Sounds mean! Those XER lobes are pretty mean to say the least, especially when you get in those high durations.
