Well, ive been researching this stuff all night. Police raydar DOESNT WORK FOR ****. Anyway, had it been in heavy or moderate traffic i would have been able to VERY likey gotten it dismissed. A police cars moving raydar can not distinguish what its hitting when it goes. They are often off because it is VERY expensive to calibrate them every month. Powerlines also goof up the raydar pretty bad. Anyway, from all this you guys should know this. When a cop pulls you over TALK AS LITTLE as you can. Act stupid, sorry and scared, if he doesnt feel sorry for you he likely wont remember much. Be EXTRA polite, yes sir or yes officer. You want the cop to forget what happend in your case, then you ask him about it, whether you had a passenger how the weather was, what the area looked like, you want to make him look like hes not well versed at all in the case. You want to delay the court date also hoping it starts to fade from his memory. Lastly, request all the information you can on the cop and his raydar, this will make him nervous to come to the court room. All this and you will likely have your ticket dismissed. Dont make the mistake by saying theres no way i was going 56, maybe 46. Just act dumb, and scared, like getting the ticket would be the end of your life.
I know some people say to be honest and just admit to it, and they will let you go. That doesnt allways work and if it doesnt then you have no chance of fighting it. So makeup your mind quick.
If i had kept my mouth shut i could have likely gotten this dismissed. :(
Oh well. I can still get it changed to a non moving violation.
I hope this helps some of you. If you havent been pulled over i suggest you do some google research of your own. I learned a FREAKIN TON.
Oh search google for "speeding ticket advice", the first few links are good ones.
