So yea..wet roads, fog, mist, all that crap. Couldn't see well, misjudged the distance. Hit a parked caddy attempting to park, no damage what so ever to the caddy. It was a peice as it is. Not even filing this on insurance, our deductible is 500 bucks as it is. Probably looking at several hundered worth of damage just to get it repainted plus possibly Halos. Oh well, what's done is done...
Just wanted to get this off my chest.

Who charges $700 to repaint a bumper? A body shop quoted me $250 to do both fenders.

Shops in a small town where there is no other place to have it done.

I bet, I spoke with Rick (95FireBirdConvertible) about it today, and I said to him "if I felt this way about a big scratch, I cant even imagine how Dave felt about his."

I will be going to the body shop tomorrow to get an estimate. I don't really think it will take THAT long to get it fixed. Its only minor body work, some paint, and then new headlights. The headlight is only cracked, it could wait awhile.

On a happy note, parents said they will cover this first incident.

Vette doesn't get driven much at all during the winter months. It is more of a tops out, windows down, cruisin type of car.

From the pictures it looks like that can be wetsanded out. Correct me if I'm wrong...have you gotten an estimate, or are you just guessing $600-700. Get an estimate, it may not be as bad as you think. Good luck, hope it isn't too much.

Yup, looks like gears are back on but it will need to wait a little bit. Just guessing on the estimate, but it cost 400 bucks last time I had the bumper repainted. Previous owner had a bra on it that messed the paint up.
