Can anyone post the directories which the following file can be found - lsass.exe
Or if possible can you mail me a copy of that file from your windows\system32 folder? - NM, got 2 copies now!
I'm running into a great problem:
Basically the lsass file in my windows\system32 folder has become corrupt (computer was either restarted during the middle of a patch "push-out" by IT, or the HD has a bad sector - yea!). This means that my computer reboots, displays a lsass.exe "When trying to update a password, this return status indicates that the value provided as the current password is not correct." and then reboots again.
It's a known microsoft issue, and their response "it will be fixed in the next service pack, reimage your computer sucka!".
Reimaging is not an option at the moment (there's a couple of important files that have not been backed up in 3 weeks or so). I've managed to get everything else under control (system files/emptying my admin password - great utility to do that found at http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/
)
This is the last step before kicking the laptop.
