update to my car wreck -insurance quote

Bad news: They're totalling my 'maro. :(

They wanted to give me $4300 for it :rolleyes:

Good news: I can keep the car and they'll still give me $3270 for it!

I don't really know why it's going to be totalled, I guess it was going to cost them too much to have it painted and whatnot. I can live with a few scratches and dents though. I just have to get a new back window put in. And hammer out a few dings on the exhaust tip or buy a new one. 3 grand should cover it. :D

Well, scatches suck, so you'll want to get the bumpers painted, too. If it's really not that bad, just take it back. You can either respray it or buy some other goodies. Sounds like a good deal to me...

Yeah I was gonna get it painted soon anyway, friend's dad could get me a good deal on a sweet paint job.

Anybody used 89glass.com? I guess they come to your house/apt and fix windshields and stuff. Got an online quote for $309 to do the back window.

I'll bet you can find a wrecked car and grab it's hatch\glass for cheaper than $309. Since you are painting anyway the color wouldn't really matter either.

Yeah i could probably find something cheaper, but to me right now it's worth it to just get it done for $300 since I need the car to drive.

And they're doing all the work and it's guaranteed for life.

Generally an insurance co will total a car if it cost more than half the cars value to fix it.

I think the number is closer to 75% of the value of the car.
