K what im tryin to do it get internet to a computer I have upstairs......Brighthouse seems to be a bunch of retards and says my computer upstairs cant see the USB Adapter so i just wanna try another way to get internet up there......what we have down on this computer is this.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...712285047&rd=1
and they gave us a NetGear wireless USB Adapter part # MA111......so is there another way to rig up the net up there?

umm cross over cat-5E if it was me lol. then just share the internet connecton
like you would for the wireless one

I am not too much of a computer geek, but what about getting a router. I have a D Link DI 604 router bnext to my desktop and it has 4 ethernet jacks and I have one going to my desktop and I have a 30' ethernet cable going inot my room so I can lay in bed and use the web on my laptop. When I buy a house ( hopefully in the next month), I am going to run the 30 footer through the ceiling so it isn't just lying on the carpet through the house into my room.
